S3ForMe Cloud Object Storage를 백업 저장소로 사용 하기

AhsayOBM 및 AhsayACB 클라이언트 백업 애플리케이션은 사용자의 S3ForMe Cloud Object Storage 또는 AhsayCBS에 사전 설정한 전용 S3ForMe 버킷에 직접 데이터 백업을 지원합니다.

How to configure S3ForMe as a backup destination in AhsayOBM

1). Login to S3ForMe

2). Create a bucket

3). Click "Edit"

4). Click "New Random Key"

5). These pair of keys will be used in AhsayOBM

6). This is the server address to be used in AhsayOBM

7). Create an "AWS S3 Compatible Cloud Storage" in AhsayOBM

8). Click the "Test" button and it can be connected to S3ForMe bucket successfully

9). Save the destination to the backup set

10). Try to trigger a backup to the new S3ForMe destination

11). Backup completed successfully!

How to setup policy for backing up to S3ForMe

The policy in AhsayCBS allows administrator to: a). Enable / disable users to back up to their own S3ForMe account, and b). Enable / disable users to back up to a dedicated S3ForMe account predefined in AhsayCBS.

Option 1). To enable users to back up to their own S3ForMe accounts:

Go to "AhsayCBS web console > Backup / Restore > Users, Groups & Policies > Policy Group". Select an existing policy or create a new policy. Then, enable the feature "Backup Set Settings > Destination Visible to Users". After this feature is enabled, you can add "Amazon S3 AWS Compatible Storage" under Standard Destination. S3ForMe is an S3 Compatible cloud storage, so adding this option will let users back up to their own S3ForMe account.

Then, assign users to an appropriate User Group that is bound to this policy, and these users will be able to back up to their own S3ForMe accounts.

Option 2). To enable users to back up to a dedicated S3ForMe bucket predefined in AhsayCBS:

If you're an MSP who want to use S3ForMe for storing all your users' backup data, you need to create a Predefined Destination first by going to "AhsayCBS web console > System Settings > Basic > Predefined Destinations" and adding your dedicated S3ForMe bucket there, as S3ForMe is an S3 Compatible cloud storage.

After the above step, go to "AhsayCBS web console > Backup / Restore > Users, Groups & Policies > Policy Group". Select an existing policy or create a new policy. Then, enable the feature "Backup Set Settings > Destination Visible to Users" and add the previously created S3ForMe bucket under Predefined Destination.

Then, assign users to an appropriate User Group that is bound to this policy, and these users will be able to choose the predefined S3ForMe storage as the backup destination. As you can see from the following image, only the customized destination name will be shown. Only a generic destination logo will be shown. Therefore, if you don't want the backup users to know the type of destination used, you can simply enter a name without the destination type, such as My Backup Server.
