1. Company history and background

iCOM was stablished in 2006. We actually, were the pioneers in Brazil to offer on-line backup services. By that time, the technological scenario was much different then today. Broadband was very incipient, and we had to preach the importance of an appropriate data backup, especially for small companies, were normally there's a huge lack of awareness on information security.

In 2012 we partnered with PRIMUS DATACENTER, here in Porto Alegre- South Brazil. Then, we started offering also dedicated managed hosting. Throughout these years, we had the opportunity to test a variety of services and products, which led us to what we call, the perfect mix: Ahsay System Corporation from China monitored by MyClientGlobal from New Zeeland.

We believe perfection is just the ability of humans finding solutions for day-by-day complications. And, once we have to deliver assurance to your customers, we had to find valuable partners to count on along the way.

2. The most successful case you have experienced

A few years ago, boosted by a new legislation, notaries were forced to back-up their data externally using appropriate 256-Bit encryption tool. Therefore, we presented AhsayOBM to back-up their systems hosted on Linux servers. After exhausting tests, AhsayOBM was chosen the best solution among six other softwares. These customers have been with us for over 6 years now and still coming in new ones.

3. When did you start your relationship with Ahsay?

We started our relationship with Ahsay in January 2007. Bought our first licenses in June of that year from former name Leb Shama.

4. What is the importance of Ahsay's products in your business mix?

Ahsay products are very important to us. Today, the online data backup represents 20% percent of our business. And 90% of it is based on AhsayOBM and ACB.

We started our relationship with Ahsay in January 2007. Bought our first licenses in June of that year from former name Leb Shama.

5. What are the 3 key features of Ahsay that you like most?

The features I like most on Ahsay are: Recoverability, Data Compression Ratio and People (Technical Support).

6. How do you compare Ahsay's products and services with those of other similar products?

We have tested many products along these years, most of them full with meaningless features. AhsayOBM, ACB and CBS(OBS) are simple to use and trustworthy. I understand they focus on what really matters! And it makes a very positive difference when comparing to other softwares!

7. What is the mix of your customers? (eg: home, small business, hosting company, etc) What is your sales and marketing tactic to each market?

100 % of our customers are businesses.
80 % of SME's
20 % of Large corporations

Our sales captures mid-market prices, while marketing is focused on delivering real commitment to customers. For instance, we DO guarantee customer's systems will work properly on our infrastructure by testing it before implamentation. As well, backup user's data will be on reach from a secondary site if primary becomes unavailable.

8. What are the difficulties in marketing your backup service in your market? How do you tackle them?

Potential customers easily get confused over "tons" of offers on the Internet. Oftentimes, regardless of fairness comparison between services, prospects are driven to buy dubious services. Even in the light of fair play, we cannot ignore it raises PCP (pay per click). So, we decided to offer different websites that vary in linguistics to approach from the non-technical to the highly skilled engineers. Which with it's own PCP strategy.

9. How can Ahsay build stronger relationship with our partners, including your company?

I understand keeping communications channels open is the best way. Possibly, creating an external customer's committee would give Ahsay the ability to better interact with greater issues.

10. What are the opportunities / threats in the recent backup market?

The ability to offer backup services based on external storage clouds, will raise a huge competition in the market. Probably, backup companies will increase exponentially in the next few months. But it is also important to say that's an incredible opportunity to grow our own businesses by using equal weapons.

11. Any other suggestions to tackle those opportunities / threats?

Once understood we have similarities based on product, we must go for differentiation. And If the differentiation your company can offer is yourself (your team), I'd suggest you and GO and develop the best quality service you can!
