Data Deduplication

Our sourced based data deduplication engine which is powered by an advanced content-based chunking algorithm, to deliver fast and efficient deduplication to identify and filter out all duplicate data blocks from the selected backup data, only uploading the unique data blocks to the backup destination or cloud storage.

The data deduplication engine will also be used to identify unique data blocks for subsequent backup jobs where files are updated or added replacing the previous in-file delta mode.

Compared with previous AhsayCBS v 8, data deduplication will result up to 3X faster backups and 3X faster restores.

Other benefits include significant savings in storage usage.

For AhsayOBM, users can choose users can choose to enable or disable deduplication and chose the deduplication scope.

For AhsayACB which is used for backup of PC’s or notebooks, deduplication is enabled with deduplication scope “All files within the same backup set” as a mandatory setting for all backup sets.
